Time vs Order

Time

Passage of Time is woven throughout the history of humans.

We believe Time is a linear progression of events. From known past to a future, that has not yet arrived.

Humans need Time to make sense of the world and our existence.

Past did happen, but our brain records it as simply events.

To make sense of these records, we need Order. Hence we invented Time.

In distant past we associated events with seasons.

At first we remembered a dramatic event that happened during the last harvest.

Eventually we cataloged events by years, months, hours, etc.

We created segments of Time based on earth's rotation and it's orbit around the sun.

One dictionary definition of Time is: indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present and future regarded as a whole.

This is true in the human mind. In my opinion, the universe exists from moment to moment. It obviously is unaware of the past or future.

Concept of Time Einstein used in developing his Theory of Relativity was greatly affected by Hermann Minkowski his former geometry professor.

In mathematical physics, Minkowski space (or Minkowski Space-Time) is a combination of three-dimensional Euclidean space (x,y,z axis) and time (t axis) into a four-dimensional construct where Space-Time interval between any two events is independent of the inertial frame of reference in which they are recorded.

Many experiments have proved Einstein and Minkowski views of space are accurate.

After several weeks of study, I understand Minkowski Space but am not an expert. I'm a novice. But when talking about intervals between events, you must assign an appropriate value. Einstein calls that Time. I call it Order.

Order

Universe is a materpiece of Order from quantum particles to black holes.

We do not understand all the laws (Order) that governs its existence, but are constantly experimenting to learn more.

In physics gravitational, electromagnetic, strong nuclear and weak nuclear forces are all highly ordered.

Random

Many people define Random with an event occurring without definite aim, reason or pattern.

In physics there is a word called Entrophy: amount of entropy is also a measure of molecular randomness of a system.

A molecule will bump into another molecule. If you know the energy of the molecule, its location and other facts you can calculate where it will go next.

However, there is not enough computer power to predict all the movements in a group of molecules.

Molecules move randomly, but they obey the laws of physics and this is a type of Order.

Disorder

There are many types of Order in the Universe, but no Disorber.

Even at the quantum level, Disorder would lead eventually to a disordered Universe.

Universe needs Order to exist not Time.

Time is a human abstraction.

Time is not a property of space.

Time is only a unit of measure.
